Vegetables & Open Field Crops
Powerful Competitors
ASTRA began producing vegetables and open field crops in 1979, to provide the
local market with high quality fresh produce at competitive prices, compared
with similar imported products at the time.
Fully controlled glass and fiberglass houses produce tomatoes, cucumbers,
lettuce and peppers all year round. While crop rotation and advanced irrigation
methods maximize open field cultivation of seasonal products (cabbage, carrots,
cauliflower, broccoli, peas, beans, squash, eggplant, melons, etc.), grains
(wheat, barley and forages), onions and potatoes. ASTRA also maintains beehives
that produce some of the finest honey brands in the market.
ASTRA Vegetables are synonymous with quality in supermarkets and greengrocers
around the kingdom
